63 cases registered, 18 house owners held for renting their houses to illegal Afghan nationals: police

In the light of orders from the Punjab government, Rawalpindi police continued crackdown against illegal Afghans and other foreigners throughout the city and arrested 18 house owners for renting their houses to Afghan residents, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

According to police, during the last five days, 216 Afghan nationals have been arrested and shifted to temporary shelters. Overall 63 cases were registered against house owners. 

Cases were registered in Police Station City, Pirodhai, Waris Khan, Bani, New Town, Sadiqabad, Ratta Amaral, RA Bazaar, Race Course, Wah Cantt, Chaklala, Airport, Taxila, Sadr Wah, Civil Lines, Morgaon, Naseerabad, Mandara, Jatli, Sadr Bironi, Gujar Khan, Dhamial, Kallar Syedan and Rawat police station. Police urged the citizens not to rent out their property to illegal foreigners. 

Moreover, illegal foreigners cannot get houses, shops or any property. Citizens should not sell their property to any illegal foreigners and citizens should not give their cars, rickshaws or other items to illegal foreigners. 

The spokesperson of Rawalpindi police said no citizen should employ an illegal foreigner while legally residing foreigners should ensure their registration with the relevant police station. The spokesman said all citizens were requested to keep an eye on their surroundings and provide information about illegal foreigners to the police.
