Pakistani, Indian personalities line up to pay tributes to Umar Sharif

Pakistani and Indian personalities from the showbiz industry along with political figures from Pakistan have expressed their condolences and sorrow over the sad demise of Comedy King Umar Sharif on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed grief over the death of renowned actor and comedian Umar Sharif.

Prime Minister Imran Khan paid rich tributes to Umar Sharif and said he was the multitalented personality who held a unique position in the field of fine arts and his services will always be remembered.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari in a statement expressed grief over the death of Umar Sharif.

Bilawal said Umar Sharif's death was shocking.

Both leaders paid rich tributes to the comedy legend. Bilawal Bhutto said the late Umar Sharif gave a new dimension to the art of comedy in Pakistan, took it to new heights, and his services to the art world will always be remembered.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed, PMLQ supremo Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, and PMLQ leader Moonis Elahi expressed their grief over the demise of comedian Umar Sharif.  

Indian entertainer and stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma said, “Alvida (Goodbye) Legend.”

Singer-cum-politician Abrarul Haq paid tributes to Umar Sharif and said Sharif’s patriotism and love for humanity will be remembered.

Actress Saba Qamar was also at the loss of words to react to Umar Sharif’s death. In a tweet, she said she was saddened to hear about his death.

Pakistan fast bowler Sohaib Akhter expressed his grief over the untimely death of Umar Sharif and said, “I have no words to express my sorrow and sadness. He has spread so much happiness and laughter in his life to be remembered forever.”

German Ambassador to Pakistan Bernhard Schlagheck said, “Shocked to hear of the sudden passing of the great comedian Umar Sharif. A tragic loss for Pakistan and the entertainment industry. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans.”
