September 2, 2022 04:02 PM

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is ahead of his predecessors when it comes to the number of departments for which he has failed to find minsters from amongst his own PML-Q as well as allied party PTI’s members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

It has emerged that the chief minister is looking after the affairs of 14 departments himself.

The number of ministers in his cabinet are 22. Besides that there are five advisors and an equal number of special assistants in the provincial cabinet.

The departments which are without ministers include that of information, S&GAD, Special Education, irrigation, literacy, MPDD, P&D, prosecution, Auqaf and human rights.

Former chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had 36 ministers in his cabinet while his predecessor Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently the country’s prime minister, had a 34-member cabinet.
