German cyclist on world tour robbed in Islamabad
A German citizen on a global bicycle tour was robbed after arriving in the federal capital Islamabad, but swift police action led to the recovery of his belongings.
According to reports, German national Philip Sam had set up camp near the Islamabad Expressway in the limits of Khanna police station when the incident occurred. Unknown thieves stole his bicycle and camera during the night.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the German embassy immediately contacted local authorities, prompting a rapid response from Islamabad Police.
Following the embassy’s intervention, police teams rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. The Investigation Wing successfully recovered the stolen bicycle and camera from the Orchard Scheme area.
Police confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and shifted to Khanna police station, where further investigation is underway.
The prompt recovery has been appreciated as an example of effective coordination between diplomatic channels and local law enforcement.
