Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation on Monday.

They exchanged Eid greetings and deliberated upon Afghan peace process, regional as well as global security and strategy to save the people from deadly Covid-19.

He stressed the need for cementing bilateral relations and stepping up efforts for durable peace in the region, saying that Islamabad looked forward to the next Session of Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).

According to a PM House statement, the premier highlighted Pakistan’s contribution to the peace process and he Afghan president Ghani that peace in the neigbhouring country was of paramount interest.

The prime minister expressed hope that the current momentum would be further built to implement the US-Taliban Peace Agreement in its entirety leading to Intra-Afghan Negotiations at the earliest.
