Interior Minister pays surprise visit to Khanna Police Station

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to Khanna Police Station in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The investigation officer was not available in his room while a number of complainants were waiting for him. The Interior Minister got annoyed over the dilapidated condition of the police station.

On the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi also talked to various accused who were locked up there. He told police officers that undue delay and wait for complainants will not be tolerated in police stations. He ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) to provide justice and redress the public complaints without undue delay.

He visited the front desk, clerk’s room, and lockup and inquired about the cases of the accused in the lockup. He ordered the release of four individuals who were arrested for parking their carts in the wrong place after completing necessary legal proceedings. The interior minister emphasized that there is no justification for parking such a large number of motorcycles in the police station. The motorcycles belong to citizens and must be returned to them. He directed the immediate hearing of complainants and warned that making them wait unnecessarily would not be tolerated. Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, was also present on the occasion.
