Amber Heard thanks fans as she wraps return to stage
Amber Heard has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans after completing her final performance in the stage play Spirit of the People at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts.
The 39-year-old actress took to Instagram on Saturday, sharing photos of herself holding several bouquets and reflecting on her time with the production. "Thank you to all of my fans and supporters for making this already unforgettable weekend so much more beautiful," she wrote to her five million followers. “The flowers won’t last forever but the memories of all the love and support I received through this will.”
Heard has spent several weeks performing in the festival, marking a significant comeback after a long hiatus from public life. Earlier in the week, she posted a glowing selfie with the caption: “Lucky to be stealing one final breath before this weekend’s final performances. Last chance to see Spirit of the People at @wtfestival!”
Fans flooded her comments with admiration. “Amber! We’re so proud of you!!!” one supporter wrote, while another said, “You were absolutely incredible in it. I hope you have a great final weekend!” A third added, “Getting to see you live was one of the best moments of my life. You're amazing!!”
The play, written by Jeremy O Harris, gave Heard the role of Genevieve, her first major acting project since the birth of her twins earlier this year and her widely publicised defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
The former couple’s high-profile legal battle in 2022 ended with Heard being ordered to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages. She also received $2 million in compensatory damages for her countersuit. The case, and its surrounding media frenzy, led her to take a step back from the spotlight.
In recent months, however, the Aquaman star has slowly re-emerged. Alongside her newborn twins, daughter Agnes and son Ocean, she is also raising her four-year-old daughter, Oonagh. Though she appears to be single, Heard has not publicly disclosed details about the father(s) of her children.
