Schools to remain closed in Rawalpindi on Aug 4

Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir has announced a public holiday for educational institutions within the municipal limits of Rawalpindi tehsil on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in connection with Chehlum observances.

According to the official notification, all public and private educational institutions located within the municipal limits of Rawalpindi tehsil will remain closed on the day.

However, educational institutions operating under the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board will continue their normal operations.

Markets and commercial centres located along or adjacent to the routes of Chehlum processions will remain closed to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.

Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with security arrangements and follow traffic advisories issued for the occasion.
