Dr Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Health, criticised Dr Yasmin for issuing the statement relating to the vaccine and said she shouldn’t have issued such remarks. Talking to Nasim Zehra on 24NewsHD news channel, Dr Faisal said that Dr Yasmin could have made a better choice of words while commenting on the vaccine.
Members of the Punjab Assembly also expressed their concerns about Dr Yasmin’s remarks. MPA Hassan Murtaza from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said that people already had reservations about the vaccine and Dr Yasmin’s irresponsible remarks would have negative impact on the Covid-19 vaccination campaign. MPA Yawar Abbas said why was the vaccine purchased from China if it was not safe?
University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Javed Akram said nobody could give 100 percent guarantee about the results of the coronavirus vaccine. He said that trials were still under way and it would take some time to have solid results.
