Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation holds General Council Meeting to finalize 2026–2027 roadmap

The Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation (PMWF) held its General Council Meeting to review performance and finalize the strategic roadmap for Mas-Wrestling activities for the years 2026–2027, spanning from grassroots development to national and international participation.

The meeting was chaired by Nawab Furqan Khan, President Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation, and was attended by all Provincial Secretaries, who actively participated by presenting agendas, progress reports, and development proposals from their respective provinces.

During the meeting, members unanimously congratulated Nawab Furqan Khan for his leadership and vision in strengthening Mas-Wrestling across Pakistan. The Council appreciated the successful organization of Provincial Mas-Wrestling Championships, which have played a vital role in talent identification and athlete development.

The General Council also expressed gratitude to the Government authorities for including Mas-Wrestling in Inter-School and Inter-College Games, as well as supporting the promotion of Pink Games, recognizing these initiatives as major milestones for inclusivity and youth engagement in sports.

In a significant development, the Council congratulated the Sindh Mas-Wrestling Association on securing its affiliation with the Sindh Olympic Association, terming it a major achievement for the institutional growth of the sport.

Furthermore, it was announced that Pakistan will host the Asian Mas-Wrestling Championship from 10–15 May 2026, marking a historic moment for the sport in the country. Preparations and planning for the championship are already underway to ensure international standards and successful execution.

The Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation reaffirmed its commitment to the promotion, development, and international representation of Mas-Wrestling, aiming to position Pakistan as a strong force in traditional and strength-based sports.
