Govt notifies tranfers, positings of senior officers

The federal government has notified transfers, postings, OSD designations, and extensions in deputation of several officers across different ministries and departments, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

According to official notifications, Dr Muhammad Hafeez ur Rahman has been appointed as the Fisheries Development Commissioner under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, with immediate effect.

Before his transfer, Dr Hafeez ur Rahman was serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Pattoki.

The Establishment Division has formally declared Waqaruddin Syed, a Grade-20 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan and former Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), as an OSD with effect from October 29, 2025.

Waqaruddin Syed had earlier been suspended following allegations of serious corruption.

Separately, Abdul Hafeez Umrani, a Grade-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service awaiting posting, has also been designated as an OSD. 

The government has also extended the deputation of Muhammad Amir Jan, Executive Director of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), for one year.

According to the Establishment Division, the extension will take effect from May 18, 2026, and he will continue to serve until a regular appointment is made or a new officer assumes the position, whichever comes first.

 Afshan Sabir, who was awaiting assignment, has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Revenue Division, while Sadaqat Ali has been posted as Section Officer in the Finance Division.

Meanwhile, Kamran Khan, currently serving under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has been appointed on a three-year deputation as Assistant Director (Surveillance) in the Federal Directorate of Immunization.

In a separate notification, the federal government approved a two-year extension in the deputation of Section Officer Syed Asghar Ali in the Commerce Division.

His deputation will now continue until June 1, 2028.
