Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Gujranwala on Friday registered their protest against massive hike in the petroleum products’ (POL) prices in a unique way by taking out a mock funeral of the coalition government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Led by party leader Ahmad Salman Baloch, the JI workers shouted slogans against the government for taking an extremely unpopular decision.
Talking to the media, they said they were in a fix; whether to meet their domestic expenditures or spend money on filling their tankers of their bikes.

While on one hand, they regretted, there had been no raise in their salaries, on the other hand they had been crushed by the soaring prices of essential items.
Similar protests were reported from other cities of the country, including Karachi, where people even resorted to vandalism at petrol pumps to vent their anger at the government.
Likewise, the city’s traders also protested against the government’s decision.
