Lady health worker shot at, injured in Nankana Sahib

A lady health worker was seriously injured after an unidentified assailant opened fire at her while she was performing her duty at village Marar Chak No. 41of Sangla Hill town in Nankana Sahib district on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rescue 1122 detailed that the firing incident occurred when Asma Bibi was performing her duty. Resultantly she sustained serious injuries.
Another 12-year-old girl was also severely injured as a result of the firing. The accused, however, managed to escape from the scene.
Both the injured were transferred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sangla Hill for medical assistance.
Deputy District Health Officer Dr Naveed Mazhar reached the spot and said that a strict action will be taken against the accused.
Moreover, SHO of Sangla Hill police station arrived at the scene with the police team and vowed to arrest he accused soon.
On the other hand, the victim’s family claimed that a long-standing animosity was reason of the occurrence. They revealed that they had filed a complaint against the accused a few months ago for house theft.
Later, some individuals intervened and reconciled both the parties. The accuser, however, harbored resentment. Consequently, he assaulted the victim.
