Esha Gupta safely returns to India after being stranded in Abu Dhabi
Bollywood actress Esha Gupta is back in India after being stranded in Abu Dhabi amid escalating US-Iran-Israel tensions that disrupted flights across the UAE.
Sharing her experience on Instagram, she described the chaos at Abu Dhabi airport, praising the UAE authorities and hotel staff for their calm and efficient handling of stranded passengers.
Esha revealed that on February 28, the airport shut down amid reports of missile strikes, leaving travelers uncertain about what the next moment might hold.
“Strangers were consoling each other, all calling their families back home… no one knew what the next minute held,” she wrote.
She highlighted the professionalism of the UAE authorities, stating that passengers were provided cash for food and hotel accommodation, while airport and hotel staff worked tirelessly to maintain calm.
Esha boarded the first commercial Etihad flight to Delhi on March 2 and expressed gratitude to both the Indian and UAE governments for ensuring safe passage for citizens.
The travel disruption followed heightened tensions in the region, triggering widespread flight cancellations across the Gulf.
UAE civil aviation authorities have since resumed limited operations, arranging special flights to help stranded passengers return home.
