A worsening gas crisis in Lahore has left residents struggling as low pressure and supply shortages continue across the city, even during officially scheduled supply hours, 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Citizens report that natural gas is often unavailable despite adherence to the government’s set timings.
The persistent shortage has forced many households to rely on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders as an alternative source of fuel.
As demand for LPG has increased, prices have also surged sharply.
Residents said LPG is now being sold between 430 and 460 rupees per unit, placing an additional financial burden on households already affected by rising utility costs.
Many citizens expressed concern that they are paying regular gas bills while still being forced to purchase expensive LPG to meet daily cooking needs.
They said the situation is particularly difficult for lower and middle-income families, who are struggling to manage household expenses.
Residents have urged the government to ensure a consistent supply of natural gas and take immediate steps to control the rising prices of LPG.
They warned that the ongoing shortage is creating severe difficulties for the general public.
