Punjab government announces major reshuffle in WASA

The Punjab government has announced a series of transfers and appointments within the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) across several districts in an effort to enhance operational performance and service delivery.

The changes were made on the directives of Housing Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal, according to an official notification issued on Monday.

Under the new postings, WASA Lahore officer Imran Qureshi has been sent to the disposal of DG WASA Punjab, while Faisal Shaukat has been appointed the Managing Director (MD) of WASA Multan, replacing Khalid Raza Khan, who has been transferred to Faisalabad.

In other changes, Muhammad Maqbool has been transferred from Faisalabad to take charge as MD of WASA Jhelum, and Shahid Raza Pasha has been appointed Deputy Director of WASA Sheikhupura.

Meanwhile, Gulrez Arshad has been appointed Deputy Director of WASA Sheikhupura, strengthening the agency’s administrative setup in the district.

Further, Muhammad Umar Farooq has been appointed Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of WASA Murree and has also been given additional charge as Director Admin Rawalpindi. Mohsin Ali has been posted Director of Metropolitan Planning at the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA).

According to officials, the reshuffle is part of the provincial government’s broader initiative to improve water management, sanitation services, and governance standards in urban centers.

The Housing Department emphasized that the newly appointed officers are expected to bring efficiency, transparency, and accountability to their respective positions, ensuring better service delivery to citizens.
