Sindh Bar Council election results announced

The Sindh Bar Council elections concluded successfully, with Advocate General Sindh Jawad Dero, serving as the Returning Officer, officially announcing the results for 16 seats from Karachi. The newly elected members represent various districts of Karachi, reflecting a strong participation from the legal fraternity across the city.

From District South, Aamir Nawaz Warraich emerged as the top vote-getter, securing 3,571 votes — the highest tally among all candidates. He was followed by Amir Bakhsh Mitlu with 3,003 votes, Abdul Hafeez Lashari with 2,996 votes, Tehmasp Rashid Rizvi with 2,573 votes, Zubair Abro with 2,291 votes, and Abdul Rashid Rajar with 2,102 votes.

In District Central, Aimal Khan Kansi led with 4,095 votes, followed by Haq Nawaz Talpur with 3,348 votes, Samsam Ali Khan with 2,966 votes, and Naeem Qureshi close behind with 2,959 votes.

From District East, Ishaq Memon secured victory with 2,880 votes, while Jahangir Rahujo received 2,126 votes, Waqar Alam Abbasi 1,970 votes, and Jan Muhammad Naich 1,764 votes.

In District West, Arun Prasad won the sole seat with 3,296 votes, while Riaz Ahmed Bhatti claimed the Malir District seat by securing 2,019 votes.

The elections witnessed keen competition among prominent members of the bar. Legal experts praised the smooth and transparent polling process, overseen by the Election Committee under the supervision of the Advocate General’s office.

The newly elected members are expected to play a vital role in advancing legal reforms, ensuring professional development for lawyers, and strengthening the role of the Sindh Bar Council in upholding justice and rule of law across the province.
