Dollar up by 43 paisas, closes at Rs166.03
The inter-bank exchange rate of US dollar again surged by 43 paisas and closed the session at Rs166.03 on Thursday after suffering some loss during the last few sessions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, the euro lost 12 paisas against the local currency and was traded for Rs196.31. Meanwhile, the pound sterling remained stable at Rs220.86.
In open market, the dollar did not see any change and was available at Rs166.50 – the level recorded on the previous day.
But both the euro and the pound were down in open market with their values slashed by Rs1.50 and 50 paisas respectively. Hence, the euro was traded for Rs197 and the pound for Rs222.50.
