Punjab govt decides to form Cyber Emergency Response Team

The Punjab government on Wednesday decided to constitute the Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) Punjab with an estimated cost of Rs1 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The CERT will monitor terrorist organizations and anti-state elements' approach to social media. 

A Security Operations Center (SOC) will be established for the response team in Punjab. Security Incident and Event Management Platforms will also be established to monitor real-time timings to tackle cyberattacks.

A comprehensive and latest system will be adopted for the security and protection of digital assets. The CERT will also help to curb hacking and cybercrimes.

Digital security alerts will be issued after monitoring on social media. The latest model of cyber emergency response will be introduced for the first time in the history of Punjab.
