Sindh Police officer suspended for smuggling involvement at Karachi Airport

A sensitive unit officer of Sindh Police has been suspended after being accused of involvement in smuggling activities at Jinnah International Airport.

According to official sources, Special Branch ASI Abdul Samad Rajpar was found complicit in facilitating mobile phone smugglers in exchange for bribes. He has been suspended from service and directed to report to headquarters.

DIG Special Branch Shiraz Nazir issued a show-cause notice to ASI Rajpar, stating that he deliberately avoided taking action against smugglers and failed to report their activities. The notice highlighted that his alleged negligence not only inflicted heavy financial losses on the government but also posed a threat to national security, law and order, and tarnished the reputation of the police force.

ASI Rajpar has been asked to submit a written reply within seven days. The DIG warned that failure to respond would result in unilateral action. “If the allegations are proven, strict disciplinary measures will be taken, which may include dismissal from service,” DIG Nazir stated.

SSP Special Branch Sahai Aziz has been appointed as the inquiry officer and directed to submit a report within a week.
