COAS discusses issues with senior serving, ex-army officers

Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday visited Corps Headquarters Lahore and met senior serving and retired military officers.
The Army Chief had an intense interactive session with the present and former senior military officers on a string of issues including professional mattes, the regional security situation, measures of optimize dividends of peace and stability and also the challenges and opportunities, said the media wing of Pakistan Army, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement.
Towards the end of the session, the participants shared multifarious suggestions and thanked the Army Chief for the candid discussion.
According to the ISPR, General Jehangir Karamat (retd), General Ahsan Saleem Hayat (retd), General Tariq Majid (retd), General Rashad Mahmood (retd) and General Raheel Sharif (retd) were also present during the interaction.
On arrival at the Headquarters, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, Commander Lahore Corps.
Earlier COAS spent some time with troops on Eid day, commended their high morale, operational readiness and continuous vigil being maintained along the LOC.
While interacting with the troops, the COAS said that Eidul Azha epitomizes the essence of unconditional sacrifice. “No one understands this spirit of sacrifice better than a soldier. Let us also reiterate our pledge to always stand by our Kashmiri brethren braving Indian atrocities for their right of self-determination despite all odds.”
