Millions of students will now be able to apply in universities on open merit as the degree of Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) on Thursday was declared the equivalent of FSc pre-engineering and pre-medical, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Under the new arrangement, the DAE students passing the exam with Biology as an optional subject will be able to get admission in pre-medical.

COO Akhtar Abbas Bharwana said that matriculation students would be eligible to apply for admissions in DAE programme before the results of their final exams were announced.

He said equipping oneself with technical education was need of the hour. “Those doing DAE, instead of FSc, get jobs in the market immediately,” he added.
