PTI not political party, but group of fascists, says PML-N

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said on Monday that some people in the country could not digest Punjab developing and prospering, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, she, while referring to the PTI, said that it was not a political party, but a group of fascists. “At a time when the country is progressing, the party has given a call for the protest,” she added.

She lashed out at some people in the PTI who had called for a ‘guerrilla war’. “What treatment do you expect from the state when you talk like this?” she questioned.

Terming the call given by the PTI for a protest on August 5, the day reserved for observing Youm-e-Istehsal to show solidarity with the people of the Indian occupied Kashmir, unfortunate, Azma said that whenever there was an important event in the country, the party spread anarchy. “PTI founder Imran Khan had given a call for a protest on November 26. And everybody knows what happened to that protest.”

“The entire nation will observe ‘Youme Istehsal’ tomorrow. No Pakistani will sit idle until Kashmiris win independence.” 

Azma accused Imran of serving the interests of the USA.

Again referring to the PTI, the minister said that the party had tried to make every important event ‘controversial’. “The same thing they did during the Iranian president’s visit to Pakistan,” she said, adding, “The fact that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif welcomed the Iranian president at Lahore airport shows how strong the relations between the two countries are.” 

Azma said that the people of Iran held Allama Iqbal in high esteem and looked up to him as the ‘Poet of the East’. 

Both Iran and Pakistan, she went on to say, had signed several deals. “They have agreed to take the volume of their bilateral trade to $10 billion.” 

Listing the Punjab government’s accomplishments, she said that some historic steps were being taken in the Punjab. “Schoolchildren in the province are being offered scholarships, laptops,” she said, adding, “Hospitals are also being built in the province. A 1000-bed cancer hospital is under construction.”

The minister said that anti-smog guns had landed in the province. “15 of them have been brought to Lahore.”
