PTI lawmaker wants magisterial powers for MPAs

It is said that “power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely”, but a PTI lawmaker instead of focusing on his job has demanded magisterial authority for Sindh Assembly members to fight the current price hike, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
His name is Ali Aziz GG. A businessman by profession, he was elected from PS-105, a constituency in Karachi East. Now, he also represents the opposition as one of its members in the Sindh Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission.
Ali could have pressed the PTI government in Islamabad to look into the wheat and sugar crises or suggest ways and means to improve governance at local level. However, he opted to say that the MPAs would be able to implement price list issued by the Karachi commissioner, as the deputy commissioners were not able to do so.
With an argument that the cheaper edible items will help reducing the hardships faced by the people, Ali asked Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to introduce necessary legislation with a promise that they will extend full support for the purpose.
