Jennifer Lopez finally ‘covers up’ tattoo dedicated to Ben Affleck 

Nearly a year after finalizing their divorce, Jennifer Lopez appears to have taken another step in distancing herself from ex-husband Ben Affleck.

The Hollywood pair rekindled their romance in 2021 after calling off their first engagement 17 years earlier. They married in 2022, but their fairytale ended when Lopez, 56, filed for divorce in August 2024, a date that would have marked their second wedding anniversary.

Their divorce was finalized in January, though the former couple has yet to sell the $52 million Beverly Hills mansion they shared, despite more than a year and a half on the market.

Now, fans believe Lopez has “covered up” the tattoo she got in honour of Affleck in 2023. The Daily Mail has reached out to her representatives for comment.

On Valentine’s Day 2023, Lopez revealed an infinity symbol with an arrow tattooed high on her right ribcage, with both her and Affleck’s first names written in cursive across it. Affleck, 53, marked the occasion with his own ink: two crisscrossing arrows featuring the couple’s initials, with “J” above and “B” below the crossing point.

Lopez first debuted her tattoo on Instagram, describing it as a symbol of their “commitment” and pairing the reveal with a mirror selfie showing off her ribcage ink.

Speculation that she had removed the tattoo first emerged in September 2024, just a month after filing for divorce, when she attended the premiere of Unstoppable. Her red-carpet gown featured open sides, and fans noticed the tattoo appeared either missing or heavily concealed with makeup.

Now, a tipster has claimed anonymously to DeuxMoi that Lopez still has the infinity tattoo but has allegedly covered Affleck’s name with a new hummingbird design. According to the source, fans started noticing the change around July or August this year.

Tattoo experts say hummingbirds often symbolise “resilience” and “renewal,” depending on the depiction, a fitting motif as Lopez moves on from the highly publicised relationship.

The reportedly altered tattoo recently made a subtle appearance in Lopez’s latest TikTok, promoting her upcoming Las Vegas residency. In the clip, the singer performs onstage in a bikini top that briefly rides up, revealing a glimpse of the ink.
