The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has made several demands from the government during talks with the latter, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Sources told the 24News TV channel that the IMF had conveyed to the government that it would have to implement all those terms and conditions in the national and provincial budgets, which had been agreed between the two sides.

They further said that the Fund had also demanded that the provincial governments cut down their expenditures, remove impediments in the way of starting new businesses, and not provide subsidies on gas and electricity.

The money lending organisation had also demanded that the provincial governments impose a ban on making fresh hiring, completely digitalize their accounts, and get the budgets passed by taking all political parties having representation in the provincial assemblies on board, sources informed.

Besides that, sources elaborated, the Fund had also set the condition that the provincial governments would not oppose the federal government’s financial targets.

Apart from that, provinces would provide complete support for stopping gas and electricity theft and smuggling.

Similarly, sources told the 24News TV channel that the IMF had also set a condition that the provincial governments would take all steps necessary for the collection of tax on agricultural income and services.
