Another KP doctor loses battle with coronavirus

Another doctor lost his life in the war against coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Dr Noor Islam who was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Hayyatabad Medical Complex Hospital in Peshawar passed away on Tuesday. He remained admitted to the ICU for the last 18 days.

His funeral would be offered at his native village Pir Saddu, at Takht Bhai. Dr Noor was retired from District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Mardan as a senior medical officer. Dr Noor also served as a medico-legal officer in the above-said hospital.

The death toll of medical officers has gone up to 65 in the province after the demise of Dr Noor Islam. Health staff in KP was still deprived of ‘Shuhada Package’ already approved by the provincial government last year.
