Air route over Lahore closed due to 'operational and safety reasons'

Pakistani authorities have announced a temporary closure of an airspace route over Lahore from May 4 to May 6, citing operational and safety requirements.

According to an air traffic advisory issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, the affected airspace will remain restricted daily from 7:15 am to 3:30 am, with a ceiling limit set at 27,000 feet.

Officials said that flights will be diverted to alternate routes during the restriction period, which may lead to possible delays for passengers. Airlines have been informed in advance to ensure proper planning and minimise inconvenience.

The Civil Aviation Authority stated that the measures have been taken in the interest of safety, and all necessary precautions are being implemented to ensure smooth air traffic management during the temporary closure.
