CTD, police gun down terrorist in Karak encounter

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police personnel have gunned down a terrorist during an encounter in Karak, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to details, Kohat Region CTD and District police received credible information about the presence of terrorists in Takht Nasrati. 

The law-enforcers rushed to the scene. To see the police and CTD personnel, the militants opened fire on them, which was returned effectively to silence their guns.

During a search and clearance operation, the security agencies found the dead body of a terrorist. A Kalashnikov, two magazines, a hand grenade, and several cartridges were recovered from the dead militant.

His accomplices managed to escape, taking advantage of the darkness.

A manhunt was launched for the fleeing militants. The law-enforcers enhanced security and cordoned off the surroundings to track down the perpetrators.

District administration said that the anti-terrorism operations will continue in the area.
