Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari on Tuesday chaired an important meeting of the steering committee to review the progress of the 100 MW Gilgit-Baltistan Solarization Project.

The steering committee, formed on the directives of the Prime Minister, will ensure the timely and transparent completion of the project. Leghari said the initiative marks a significant step toward Pakistan’s transition to clean and green energy.

“The Gilgit-Baltistan Solarization Project is not only a milestone for environmentally friendly power generation but also a way forward in reducing dependence on costly fossil fuels,” the minister remarked. He added that renewable energy ventures benefit both the economy and the public by providing sustainable and affordable electricity.

During the meeting, technical and financial aspects of the project were discussed in detail, while the committee emphasized the need for effective coordination among all concerned institutions.

Leghari assured that the project will bring affordable clean energy to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and play a key role in Pakistan’s journey toward environmental protection and sustainable growth.
