Hajj 2021 risk cancellation over coronavirus fears
Fears of cancellation of this year’s pilgrimage are growing due to the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Quoting sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the channel reported that the Saudi authorities had sealed their lips completely with respect to making arrangements for the annual ritual.
They added that there had been no contact between the governments of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on the subject for the last few days.
Sources told 24News that it had been the government of Pakistan’s desire to complete arrangements for Hajj on time in view of the pandemic, but due to no response from the Saudi side, some important matters were still awaiting settlement.
