Law minister invites opposition to dialogue on reforms

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has called on the opposition to engage in dialogue with the government to help reform the system, emphasizing that mere sloganeering will not steer the country in the right direction, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday, the law minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has consistently extended a hand for dialogue.

He, however, regretted that political hate has intensified to such an extent that political parties are unwilling to come to the negotiating table.

The Minister further said those who break the law and cross all limits will face consequences.

“Forget what has happened before today. Come sit together and talk. If our intentions are good then there will be good outcome,” he maintained.

The minister recalled that they had evolved consensus with the PTI on elections but then Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies were dissolved.
