KP Cabinet withdraws 57 cases related to May 9
Advocate General Shah Faisal Atmankhel says Sohail Afridi-led government constitutes a committee to probe May 9 cases
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Cabinet has decided to withdraw 57 cases linked to the May 9 incidents, moreover Cabinet also approved the formation of a committee to probe May 9 incidents.
KP Advocate General Shah Faisal Atmankhel told media that the provincial cabinet approved the withdrawal of cases and now state will withdraw 51 cases related to May 9.
Advocate General said approval has also been given to form a committee to investigate the incidents of May 9.
He said special Cabinet meeting was convened on the advice of Khyber Paktunkhawa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
Official sources said that the Advocate General's Office has sent recommendations to withdraw 51 cases as several PTI members and workers are booked in the cases of May 9 and sword of disqualification was hanging over the assembly members in case of conviction in the cases.
