Pakistan, ADB sign three key agreements for major infrastructure projects
Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Friday signed three significant agreements aimed at boosting transport and water resource development in the country, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced.
The agreements include project readiness financing for the ML-1 Karachi–Rohri railway section and the Quetta Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. Additional financing for the Balochistan Water Resources Development Sector Project was also finalised.
According to the ministry, the documents were signed by the Secretary of Economic Affairs and the Secretary of Railways. ADB Country Director Emma Fenn signed on behalf of the bank.
The Secretary of Economic Affairs expressed gratitude to the ADB for its continued support on projects of national importance. In turn, Country Director Emma Fenn commended Pakistan’s strong commitment to advancing these initiatives and reaffirmed the ADB’s resolve to continue its cooperation with the country.
