The nation is observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day today (Feb 5) to demonstrate its unwavering support of Pakistan to the just struggle of Kashmiri people for their indisputable right to self-determination under the UN resolutions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The day is being marked to expose the worst ever oppression being perpetrated by Indian occupational forces against Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

One minute silence was observed at 10:00 am across the country and sirens were blown to honour the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs.

Solidarity walks were organized in Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and in four provincial capitals.

Human chains were formed at Kohala and other important points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

A big rally in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day was taken out in Islamabad in which Advisor on AJK & GB Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira, several federal ministers, members of parliament and officials of foreign office participated. Besides them, people from various walks of life and students also took part in the rally.

Addressing the rally, Kaira said that no one could suppress the freedom movements through oppression. He said the Indian government is trying to change the Muslim majority into minority.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will address a special session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad today.

PM Shehbaz says IIOJK people are waging relentless struggle of epic proportions to realise their dream of freedom

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his tweet said: “Today the whole of Pakistan comes together to express its unflinching solidarity & support to Kashmiri brothers & sisters, who remain undeterred by the oppressive Indian occupation apparatus in the struggle for UN-sanctioned right to self-determination.

“People of IIOJK are waging a relentless struggle of epic proportions to realise their dream of freedom from the Indian yoke. Through their sacrifices, they have kept the torch of freedom burning. It is my faith that their dreams will soon see the light of day.”

Bilawal asks India to end gross HR violations in IIOJK

In his message on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said India must end its gross human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reverse its unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019 including demographic changes; repeal draconian laws; allow UN-mandated investigations into cases of extrajudicial killings and implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, “As we observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day, the people of Pakistan salute the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who have suffered for more than seventy-five years under brutal Indian oppression.”

He said for over seven decades, Indian Occupation Forces have brutalized the Kashmiris and denied them their rights. Today, the IIOJK was one of the most-militarized zones of the world, with the presence of over 900,000 occupation forces.

With its illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, India had opened a new chapter in suppressing the people of IIOJK. With fresh delimitation of electoral constituencies, issuance of millions of domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris, and addition of hundreds of thousands of non-Kashmiris in the voters lists, India’s ruling dispensation aimed to transform Kashmiris into a disempowered minority in their own land, he added.

He said Kashmiris are living in a constant state of fear as Indian forces engage in the indiscriminate use of force and extra-judicial killings in staged “cordon-and-search” operations. Political activists and human rights defenders face arbitrary detention, torture and confiscation of properties.

“I want to remind our Kashmiri brothers and sisters that Pakistan will never sit back and watch silently while Kashmiris continue to suffer Indian atrocities. Jammu and Kashmir dispute will remain a key pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy. We will continue to lend unstinted moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiri people until the realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. As we observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day, the people of Pakistan salute the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who have suffered for more than seventy-five years under brutal Indian oppression.”

Zardari says IIOJK has become largest prison in the world today

President of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari has said that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) wanted a proactive role by the international community in getting their legitimate right of self-determination in line with the resolutions passed by United Nations.

In his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, he said that Occupied Kashmir has become the largest prison in the world today, where violation of human rights has become a daily routine.

Asif Zardari said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto participated in the United Nations meeting as the Prime Minister along with the political leadership of IIOJK. Now Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has exposed Modi’s brutalities in Occupied Kashmir at the international level.

He said that the freedom of IIOJK from the Indian yoke will establish lasting peace in the region.

Asif Zardari said that international human rights organizations should raise their voices against the atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that freedom of Kashmiri people is their fundamental and democratic right and the PPP will continue to extend political and moral support to the democratic struggle of Kashmiri people for their right of self-determination.

Interior Minister expresses solidarity with Kashmiris

Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah Khan has reiterated full support of Pakistan to Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle against Indian repression.

In his message in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, the minister said that India would never succeed to suppress the indigenous freedom movement of Kashmir people. He strongly condemned Indian forces unabated atrocities in the IIOJK and assured full support to the Kashmiri people from Pakistan.

He said Pakistan will continue to stand with Kashmiris in their just struggle for self-determination.
