Five bidders qualify for Multan Sultan’s auction scheduled for Feb 9

As many as five bidders have qualified to participate in the auction of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans ahead of the 11th edition of the league, set to run from March 26 to May 3, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The auction will be held on February 9 in Lahore.

Five bidders have been shortlisted to compete for the ownership of the franchise, having been selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) bidding panel.

The PCB revealed that six proposals were submitted within the deadline. Following a comprehensive and transparent review process, five bidders were found to meet the technical requirements and will now take part in the auction.

This can be termed a milestone in the franchise ownership process as preparations for PSL 11 move forward.

Expressing delight over receiving overwhelming response from the parties to acquire the ownership rights of the franchise, PSL CEO Salman Naseer said, "We are delighted to receive such keen interest in the sale of Multan Sultans' Franchise Rights. The HBL PSL congratulates the technically qualified bidders and appreciates all parties who engaged with us through-out the tender process; with whom we will continue to explore other exciting opportunities."
