Sarbjit Kaur set for deportation after visa overstay in Pakistan

Pakistani authorities have decided to deport Sarbjit Kaur, an Indian national who arrived in Pakistan on a religious visa and later married a Pakistani man, after it was determined that she had been residing in the country illegally, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

According to 24NewsHD, Sarbjit Kaur has been taken to the Wagah Border to complete deportation formalities.

Her counsel, Ali Changezi Sandhu, stated that she was staying in Pakistan unlawfully after her visa expired.

The lawyer confirmed that Sarbjit Kaur’s visa expired in November 2025, after which she failed to return to India.

Sources said that following the completion of border procedures, she will be formally handed over to Indian authorities.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court has already sought a report from the relevant authorities in connection with the matter.

Former MPA Mahendar Pal Singh had approached the court through advocate Ali Changezi Sandhu, seeking legal clarity on the case.

Sarbjit Kaur arrived in Pakistan on November 4 as part of a group of Sikh pilgrims, with her visa valid until November 13.

However, she did not return after the visa expired.

During her stay, she embraced Islam and married Naseer Hussain of Pakistan.

After converting, she adopted the name Noor Fatima.

According to sources, Sarbjit Kaur and Naseer Hussain first came into contact through social media in 2016, which later developed into a relationship.
