Razia Shabbir triumphs in Women’s Mini Tour de Lahore Cycling Race
Punjab Olympic Association stages race to prepare athletes for national competition: Thirty-five female cyclists take part in challenging route across Lahore: Cash prizes awarded to top performers following the event
Razia Shabbir secured first place in the Women’s Mini Tour de Lahore Cycling Race organised by the Punjab Olympic Association, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the channel report, the event brought together 35 female cyclists who competed on a route passing through several key areas of Lahore.
The race began from the Punjab Olympic Association office and proceeded through Liberty Market, Siddique Trade Centre, Jail Road and Toulton Market before returning to Liberty, where it concluded.
Razia Shabbir finished at the top of the standings, while Muattar Manzoor claimed second place and Zara Khan secured third.
Amina Naeem finished fourth, followed by Amina Bibi in fifth position. Maria took sixth place, while Asoha, Saneha, Khadija and Nazia Mehak completed the top ten in seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth places, respectively.
Officials said the race was organised as part of preparations for the upcoming Open Women’s National Mini Tour de Lahore Race.
They said the competition was aimed at helping athletes gain valuable racing experience ahead of the national event.
Cash prizes were distributed among the leading competitors following the race.
The winner, Razia Shabbir, received Rs15,000, while the runner-up was awarded Rs10,000. The third-placed cyclist received Rs5,000.
The fourth-placed athlete was awarded Rs3,000, while competitors finishing from fifth to tenth place each received Rs2,000.
Organiser Secretary Waqar Ali, Working Secretary Shahzad Butt and Chief Organiser Qaiser Butt were also present at the event and witnessed the competition.
