National hockey players paid Rs45m ahead of FIH Pro League

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has disbursed Rs45 million to members of the national hockey team ahead of their departure for the upcoming FIH Pro League, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.  

The federation said the payments were made before the team's departure to ensure that players received their dues in full and on time.

According to PHF President Muhyuddin Wani, the amount includes prize money announced by Shehbaz Sharif following Pakistan's qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup, as well as advance daily allowances for the Pro League campaign.

Wani said each player received approximately Rs700,000 in connection with the Pro League tour, while an additional Rs1.5 million per player was paid as a reward for helping Pakistan secure qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup.

The move comes as the federation seeks to boost player morale and provide financial support ahead of a crucial international assignment.

Timely payment of dues has long been a key concern for Pakistan's hockey players, making the latest disbursement a significant step by the federation.
