CM Maryam orders free treatment for patients returned from India

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday ordered free treatment of all patients who had returned from India untreated due to border tensions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In her directives, the Chief Minister said that all patients who were in India for transplant and treatment of other diseases will get free treatment in Punjab.

She said that Punjab government will look-after them and they will be provided best treatment facilities.

Earlier, Pakistan expressed serious concern over the humanitarian fallout of India’s decision to revoke visas of Pakistani citizens, particularly those undergoing medical treatment.

Responding to media queries, the Foreign Office Spokesperson highlighted the distress caused to Pakistani nationals, many of whom were compelled to return home prematurely—some without completing critical medical procedures.

“Several Pakistani patients, including those in delicate health conditions, have been forced to return without receiving the care they travelled for,” the spokesperson said. “This raises profound humanitarian and ethical concerns.”
