Federal govt orders transfers, posting in Islamabad

The federal government on Tuesday approved a series of appointments, transfers, contract extensions and deputation postings across various departments, while also placing several officers awaiting posting as officers on special duty (OSD).

According to multiple notifications issued by the Establishment Division, the president has approved a three-year extension in the contract appointment of Irfan Qadir Khan, Legal Consultant to the Presidency. The extension will be effective from April 29, 2026.

In another decision, the deputation of Hafizullah Abbasi, a grade 20 officer of the Secretariat Group currently serving with the Sindh government, has been extended by one year with effect from April 3, 2026.

The services of Director Commercial Audit Islamabad and Shiraz Hussain Wagan of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service (Grade 19) have been placed on deputation with the Sindh government for a period of three years.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, Syed Natiq Hussain Shah, has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

In a separate order, Zafar Khalid, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary in the Establishment Division.

According to the notifications, several officers awaiting posting in the Establishment Division have been assigned OSD status. These include officers from the Pakistan Administrative Service such as Tuba Musa, Talha Ahmed, Arafa Zahid, Yashab Yousuf, Kamran Sarvia, Fatima Ayub, Farooq Ahmed, Sunil Yunus, Nayab Maqsood, and Aliza Arif. Additionally, Faizal Naeem of the Office Management Group (Grade 18) has also been made OSD.

Separately, Maira Yunus, a Grade 17 Subject Specialist from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department, has been transferred to the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad.

In other postings, Qazi Muhammad Azhar Memon, Administrative Officer of the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, has been deputed to the Benazir Income Support Programme, while Mohsin Abbas Rizvi has been appointed Section Officer in the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division on deputation.
