Karachi Chamber delegation discusses ways to increase trade with Bangladesh at Export Promotion Bureau in Dhaka

A delegation of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry exchanged views with the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau to increase bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The meeting was held at the Export Promotion Bureau office in the capital Dhaka, on Monday evening.

A 15-member delegation led by Senior Vice President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Raja participated in the meeting. The Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau was led by its Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Hassan Arif. Important discussions were held in the meeting to increase mutual trade and investment between the two countries.

The Pakistani delegation presented several important proposals to reduce the trade deficit between the two countries and increase mutual investment.  Among them, emphasis was laid on Bangladesh's participation in the 'My Karachi Show' to be held in Karachi, removal of tariff and non-tariff barriers, implementation of the decisions of the Joint Economic Commission and making the SAFTA (SAPTA) agreement more effective.

The members of the delegation also expressed interest in the investment environment in Bangladesh and whether there are any obstacles.
