Gilani attends 'Victory Day' reception hosted by Azerbaijan embassy

Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are brotherly nations that have always stood by each other. Cooperation between the two countries has increased in various sectors, including trade, investment, and energy.

A 'Victory Day' reception was hosted to mark Azerbaijan’s Victory Day by the embassy concerned. The reception was attended by numerous diplomatic, political, and social figures. During the ecent the military band played the national anthems of both countries. A special documentary video related to Victory Day was also screened.

In his address, the chief guest and the Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani stated that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are working together for a stronger and more prosperous region. He reiterated that both nations have always stood by each other and that cooperation in various sectors—such as trade, investment, and energy—continues to grow.

Addressing the gathering, Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov said that the people of Azerbaijan will never forget the support of Pakistan and Türkiye. Türkiye and Pakistan strongly supported Azerbaijan, and today the fifth anniversary of the liberation of the occupied territories and the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War is being celebrated.

The event also featured a captivating performance of Azerbaijani music, which was highly appreciated by the participants. The guests also cut a cake to mark the occasion.
