SHC directs govt to provide for missing persons families’ sustenance

The Sindh High Court has ordered the government to provide for the sustenance of the families of the missing persons summoning the secretaries of social welfare, Zakat and women development, and also the director of Baitul Maal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Sindh High Court was hearing a case of missing persons’ families in Karachi on Tuesday.
The court asked the Sindh government to arrange for the provisions of the missing persons’ families. It summoned Baitul Maal director and secretaries of social welfare, Zakat and women development on Oct 7 asking them to prepare a mechanism for the sustenance provision to the families.
It said ‘imagine what would happen to a family whose head would have gone missing for 7-8 years’.
Justice Salahuddin Pehnor remarked that the government was providing jobs to hundreds of its favorites, adding that ‘’at least, leave something for the common lot of God’.
The court also directed the authorities to expedite their efforts for the recovery of missing citizens: Adil Khan, Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Naeem.
