Govt to unveil Kissan package next week: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday the government will unveil a historic Kissan Package next week for the development of agriculture.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, described agriculture was the backbone of the national economy and laid emphasis on bringing in betterment.
The premier said the historic package will be unveiled at the Kissan Conference scheduled to be held next week.
Shehbaz held separate meetings with farmers’ delegations and issued directives to the committee of ministers to present actionable recommendations for fixing growers’ problems at the earliest. He laid stress on taking the farmers into confidence.
He expressed his resolve to provide all possible relief for the development of the agricultural sector and ensure the welfare of growers in light of the committee’s recommendations.
He recalled the steps he had taken for the development of the agriculture sector and the welfare of farmers in his term as the chief minister of Punjab.
He reminded the visitors of his endeavours to protect the interests of farmers and provided them subsidies on electricity bills, fertilizers supply and procurement of agri-tools.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for National Food Security Tariq Bashir Cheema, and officials concerned were present.
Earlier, farmers called off the protest after Rana Sana assured the growers of addressing their concerns. Farmers left the federal capital while the committee members stayed in the city to hold the meeting with the premier.
