The road from Chaman to Afghanistan has reopened after a 12-hour blockade by locals in protest against a shootout that left one dead and three injured, reported 24 News HD TV Channel.
Reportedly, Laghri Alliance blocked the road to protest the killing of a local allegedly by the firing of security forces.
The closure of the Pak-Afghan highway had landed the commuters in the lurch and huge financial loss to the government and traders.
The protesters were demanding justice by bringing the killer to book.
However, Deputy Commissioner Chaman Abdul Hameed Zahri ended the ongoing sit-in after holding successful negotiations with the alliance.
