Police arrest kite-seller from Lahore

Police arrested a kite-seller and recovered a large quantity of kites and chemical string reels from his possession in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to details, Station House Officer (SHO) Johar Town, Mohsin Shehzad, received authentic information about an accused who arrived to sell kites after receiving an online order in Jutt Town, Johar Town.

Police intercepted the accused, who was later identified as Usman, and recovered more than 250 kites and 43 chemical string steels from his custody.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rana Tahir Hussain said that there is a complete ban on the sale, and anyone who is found selling kites will be dealt with as per the law.

Earlier in January 2026, Lahore police intercepted the sale of over 100 colourful kites, four reels of chemical-coated string, and two additional ropes by arresting a kite vendor in Badami Bagh.

The accused, identified as Nasir, was reportedly selling kites at various locations throughout the city. 

According to police, he used local transport and cardboard boxes to discreetly distribute the kites and evade law enforcement.
