Four people lost their lives while removing an iron board that was installed on the roof of their shop in Shahdara near Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses said that the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) force asked the shop owner to remove the signboard, but due to the non-availability of an electrician, they themselves tried to remove the signboard.

The tragic deaths occurred during the removal process, when the electric wires touched the signboard.

Two dead persons were identified as Nadeem, who was a rickshaw driver, and Awais. The identity of the other two deceased was still unknown.

In another incident, a transformer caught fire in Lytton Road area of Lahore, resulting in the disruption of supply of electricity in the area.

Rescue sources said they brought the fire under control, and no loss of life or property was reported from the affected site.
