Prominent bakery owner commits suicide by jumping from 17th floor in India
Sunil Moti Lal Sadarangani, a renowned businessman and owner of the famous Multani Bakery in Sholapur, Maharashtra, committed suicide by jumping from the 17th floor of a high-rise residential building on Friday.
According to police, eyewitnesses reported seeing 60-year-old Sadarangani engaged in prayer before the incident.
Initial reports suggested that he deliberately climbed the stairs to the 17th floor instead of using the elevator.
Residents noticed him standing on the rooftop with folded hands, praying, and immediately alerted the building’s security personnel.
Security staff rushed to the rooftop and persuaded him to come down.
However, Sadarangani reportedly told the guard that he had left his keys on the roof, returned to the 17th floor, and then jumped, resulting in instant death.
Police arrived at the scene, transported the body to a nearby hospital, and registered a case of accidental death while initiating an investigation.
The reasons behind the suicide remain unknown, and no suicide note has been recovered.
