Parents cry foul as matric topper fails in Karachi inter exams
A girl student who obtained Grade A-1 in matric examination was miserably failed in clearing any subject in the intermediate exams conducted by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Karachi (BIEK) this year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Later, it was detected that the female student secured F-grade in intermediate examination.
Parents of the students appealed the relevant higher authorities to take notice of this incident and provide them justice.
In their appeal, the parents said that we failed to know the reason why she was declared failed in all subjects as she was satisfied after appearing in the examinations.
Earlier, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) had announced the results of the 2024 annual exams for all first-year groups, including Science Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Science General, Arts Private, Commerce Private, and Home Economics.
The Examinations Director shared that 31,267 candidates registered for the Science Pre-Medical exams, with 30,528 appearing, out of these, 10,914 passed all six papers, 4,059 passed five, and 2,476 passed one.
In the Science Pre-Engineering group, a total of 23,391 students registered, while 22,973 appeared in the exam. Among them, 6,674 passed all six papers, 2,715 passed five, and 2,281 passed one.
For the Science General group, 17,690 candidates registered, with 17,375 appearing. Out of them, 6,282 passed all six papers, 3,215 passed five, and 881 passed one.
In the Arts Private group, 2,268 registered and 2,080 appeared in the annual examination with 552 passed all six papers, 402 passed five, and 189 passed one.
In the Commerce Private group, 1,651 registered, with 1,570 appearing. 490 passed all seven papers, 337 passed six, and 96 passed one.
Lastly, in the Home Economics group, 194 registered, and 190 appeared. 75 passed all seven papers, 41 passed six, and 9 passed one.
